The Funnel cake is a special cake that is found usually in social gatherings such as fairs, festivals and carnivals. A Funnel Cake Recipe is very different when we compare to any other cakes. It is different as it is prepared by frying with the help of a funnel and that’s how it has got its name as the Funnel Cake. They are usually deep fried until their color changes to golden brown and it is ready to be served and they are covered either with jam or powered sugar or any other toppings according to the people’s liking.

Cake Ingredients:
- 8 cups of vegetable oil for frying.
- Milk – 1 ½ Cups.
- 2 eggs.
- 1 tablespoons of baking powder.
- Salt ½ teaspoon.
- Baking soda 1 teaspoon.
- Ground Cinnamon ½ teaspoon.
- All purpose flour – 2 Cups.
- Confectioner’s Sugar – ¾ Cup.
Method:
- Take a deep fryer and pour oil in it and then heat the oil to 375 Degrees F.
- Then take a large bowl and put milk, eggs, flour, cinnamon, baking powder and salt in it. Once you have done that and stir this mixture until it is smooth.
- Now the take the funnel and cover its opening and pour 1 cup of the batter inside it.
- Hold the funnel firm and start from the center of the fryer in a swirling motion and make 6 or 7 inch round rings. Now fry on both the sides until they are golden brown.
- Remove them from the hot oil and place them on paper napkins so that all the excess oil is soaked.
- Sprinkle some confectioner’s sugar over them and serve hot.

The topping of the funnel cake is usually done with powered form of sugar and it is served while it is still hot. But some people prefer different kinds of toppings, which make it, look more appealing, some of the toppings include:
- Jam
- Pastry fillings
- Maple Syrup
